Most Underrated subs? (power)

So your saying ohms law need not apply?

Voltage, Times amperage...is Wattage..regardless of any situation.

Is it 100% perfect? No, its not going to be because there is no possible way that you can accurately measure voltage and current down to a few milliamperes or millivolts. But it is as accurate as you can possibly get in a given scenario.

Arguing that is as broad as it is long....your reading way too far into it to prove a point going against a law of science that discovered and written into law many years ago.

wow this thread sucks
i didn't intend it to, but you're right, out of 50 something posts, only 4 or so actually stayed on topic...

aw well...thanks to all that actually gave some input that was on topic instead of "no one cares" cus they gotta say it to raise their worthless ego...

how is it u measure true power then ?
you must know the phase shift between current and voltage if it is a reacive load. You would need an oscilliscope to measure power input to a subwoofer...for measureing power output of an amplifer at a given load you could use a purely resistive load.

Ohm's law application to DC and purely resistive loads isnt being argued here. I'm not argueing agianst ohms law in any sort of way. What am I argueing? The misconception that AC volts RMS * AC amps RMS equals AC watts RMS.

Ohm's law is the laws of thermodynamics and what I'm talking about is the theory of reletivity.

What I'm talking about is extremely significant in the discussion of how much power a subwoofer can handle as apparent power is as erratic between installs as impeadance... One could have failure at 2000w of apparent power and 1500w of apparent power and true power in both instances could be the same.

how so? advanced topics ****?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif
i was going to say that all this advance stuff is at least giving us some education //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
