no he wants a high output duralast alt so he can fab up dual alts like I
however.. i have concluded that duralast does not make H.O. alts.. for the simple reason they only offer stock replacement alts... not too many vehicles come stock with over 200 amp alts
look into 80's vettes if you ever see any in the junk yard, to my undestanding, they all came with 150 amp alts...idk bout a 180 amp alt stock though.....
I know everyones experience if different but if you buy an alternator from AZ and slightly abuse it, it will not last. I know they come w/ a lifetime warranty but it sucks to replace an alternator every 6 months to a year. I have never had an alternator or starter last more than a year from them. Why not just get yours rewound or have a local alternator shop build you a high output one. They may be able to recommend another type that will mount to the stock location that is much better than your stock alternator.
You could also get a price from one of the two places listed below.
A lot of the diesel guys use both of these companies when replacing there alternators and the 3/4 ton and above trucks abuse their alternators w/ the glow plugs (they pull around 110 amps everytime you start the truck).
This next one is for us Ford boys, it is a monster.
