i didnt spend 10k but i did get to take the first class test b4 the whole year thing so once the year passed i was already first class certified

I went to the Mobile Dynamics program in Toronto in april. This is what I have to say about it. I reccomend it IF....

You already have decent experience in car audio. They get down the the very very details of the actual acoustics of sound in a car and how a speaker makes the actual sound n crap like that. Enclosure building...you learn alot once again about how different shapes effect the sound of a box, why a cirlce is bad, and why a box with NO parellel walls is the best, but no 90 degree corners or edges and what ever else.

I would have liked to go with a little more experience.

According to MECP rules you're required to work for a minimum of 1 year in the industry before you are allowed to take the First Class installer test. If Mobile Dynamics lets n00b's write the test simply because they paid the money to be there, then my respect level for their work is down.

then again you dont live as far as i do from the school, and you dont get 8 mpg. in a week i kill about $150 worth of gas alone just around town. transportation, food, and housing isnt going to be cheap.

I went for a walk around thru their Toronto campus.. spoke with people at the school...
I decided that for the 2 months im going to be there and the $10,000 the program + extras was going to cost..

I wasn't going to learn enuff to make it worth it..

Also spoke with a few students and they seemed to have a bad cocky car audio attitude.. not my cup of tea...

10,000 to work at a best buy install bay.. WOoo.. no.

Yea i was going to go as well, i then got their loan applicantion paper work thru sally mae. that is the shaft job #1 (you cant pay it off early, and it would be cheaper to put it on a CC with their intrest rates) 2nd was that i couldnt work (ie have money coming in those 8 weeks). also i have been able to learn alot from forums for what? the price of the internet per month. a guy i worked with went there and now he works install at CC. YEA sounds good to me.

but by all means, you fellas go, have fun, i am sure you learning experience will be better than mine.
