After 5 years I think it's time to get a new set of drivers.

So many **** options. My gut is telling me to go DD, I really want to have a full DD build winning in the SQ lanes just because the purist don't like the brand name even though they are based around sound quality first, just happen to break SPL records.

But I also want to get a boutique SQ brand.... this is the hardest choice I've ever had to make in a build.

I'm very happy with my Focals. Mids are on point and highs are not too harsh.

It's all in the tune. You can make a driver pretty much sound like anything. Output will vary.

I just sent Steve Cook a PM to see what he will charge to bring the mids out of the door and do the pillar. I think that's the only way to get the rattle out of the door skin. I've soaked it in deadener and foam and it still has a nasty reverb in the midbass.

I talked to Aaron at DD for a while yesterday. I'm going to do the AW6.5. He said the BCs are a bit bloated in the midbass. I was a bit worried about the aluminum cone in the upper midrange but he said I'll be cutting it off well before they start ringing.
