can I (or would it be wise) to run a channel off the amp to each woofer and each tweeter individually? i have a 4 channel kicker KX650.4. here are the specs:
Power (WATTS/CHANNEL), 2 Ohm Stereo: 170W x 4
Power (WATTS/CHANNEL), 4 Ohm Bridged Mono: 325W x 2
Frequency Response: 20Hz-20kHz; +0, -1dB
Input Sensitivity: High Level 340mV-10V, Low Level 170mV-5V
Active Crossover: 12dB/Octave, variable 50Hz-200Hz, selectable high pass, low pass, or all pass
here are the specs for the morel dotech comps:
SYSTEM SPECS:
Nominal Impedance 4 Ohm
Power Handling 140W
Max. Transient Power Handling 300W
Sensitivity (2.83V/1M) 90dB
Crossover Point 3200Hz 6dB/octave
DOTECH MKII 6" WOOFER
Nominal Impedance 4 Ohm
Power Handling 140W
Max. Transient Power Handling 300W
Sensitivity (2.83V/1M) 90dB
Frequency Response 40-4000Hz
FS 57Hz
DC Resistance 3.2 Ohm
SPECIFICATIONS MT-11 TWEETER
Nominal Impedance 4 Ohm
Power Handling 80W
Max. Transient Power Handling 250W
Sensitivity (2.83V/1M) 91 dB
Frequency Response 1800-22000Hz
FS 950Hz
DC Resistance 3.4 Ohm
I WAS THINKING THAT AMP 1 (CHANNELS 1 -2) and use them to power the tweeters. I could then use AMP 2 (CHANNELS 3-4) to power the woofers. That would allow me to set the gains for the tweeters seperately from the woofer gains and I could control how the highs more effectively, considering my head unit (alpine 9856) has a poort excuse for an EQ.
I am no expert so if I am wrong, PLEASE tell me. I am getting them installed tomorrow and this just popped into my head.
