really, the only tools you NEED to make a speaker cabinet are a drill and a jigsaw. you can cut the panels with the saw, make the cutouts with the saw, drill the holes with the drill and screw everything in. if i were only allowed TWO tools, i'd take my new drill and my circular saw (amazing as they are both hitachi......).

just makes sure it is good, and won't leave 1" deep gashes in ur leg when the blade shoots out (long story)
wow, i guess im lucky i haven't seen that happen before. lol

but then again, i don't buy toysRus branded tools. haha j/k

that's usually operator fault for not tightening the blade right.

here is the one i have its very cheap had it for like 1 year now never had a problem with it. my friend payed $30 for it, he sold it to me for $15 after using it once.

and it has the Quick Clamp For Tool Free Blade Changes so your blade wont fly out.

15 bucks on ebay, the entire assembly camre apart (wasn't just tightening the nut) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well I just got a lil 4.5A orbital jig from Black&Decker for $40...so hopefully it works...gonna use it here in a lil bit...

edit:

works like a champ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

This is a silly question. Either can be useful, and excel at doing different things...I wouldn't want to put a bluntnosed edge on a piece of trim with a jigsaw, nor would I want to use a router to cut out holes in sheetrock for utility boxes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Good you added the "J/K" in there, because I'd take Hitachi over anything Dewalt or Black&Decker...any day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've got a Hitachi 1/2" chuck corded drill that was a gift from my dad, literally older than myself, and it's one of the smoothest functioning tools I have. I put three holes into the exterior sheetmetal of my van with it, and even though I was scared shitless of measuring something wrong, the drill worked flawlessly...and it's only needed a new power cord (because of a stupid operator error) and a re-lubrication of the major moving parts in 20+ years of operation.

They also make a **** fine compound miter saw - which, if you've never used one, you don't know what you're missing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
