more power to sub??

You can plug that baby into a wall socket and it will play. There's just that hassle of a 5-10 minute sub life.

So yes, you can hook 480 rms to it, don't expect it to last very long.

You can connect a 480w RMS amp to the sub, assuming you don't use the amp to it's fullest potential. If you are new and/or inexperienced, I wouldn't suggest trying it because you can very quickly blow the sub.

While I agree its possible, hell you could hook a 10,000 watt amp to it if you bottlenecked the amp down via gain/volume settings, but its a waste, and will still likely end up blowing your sub because you'll probably push it to the limit, given that much headroom in power. A 150 watt sub and a 500 watt amp are simply a bad match.

shit, i blew the sub with that much power, i was coming home and i smelled like a burning smell and the sub was bottoming out bigtime, (BTW i was listening to Late Night Tip) and then i opened the trunk and the sub was smoking bigtime with a ton of smoke coming from the port and was crackling too, i blew it, i learned my lesson //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
