Well ,you may or may not remember the friend I had which recently reported to me he was a zoophile...

Well if you don't,

http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=101804&highlight=psych

He recently showed up to my house the other day- obviously bored out of his skull.

We talked a long time, he said he hated himself and the way he was and said he was sorry for giving my AIM screen name to all those people, and basicaly told me that he tries really hard to be normal but it's all a lie, this is the way he's supposed to be, or something like that.

I can't help but feeling really sorry for him, you know, people dream of having a wife and kids, and what can he hope for? I don't even know, he won't tell me. Hes got these friends online who he claims talked him out of ******* once or twice, and he says he might go and meet one of them, and if this"lifestyle" that his online friends have is all as sad and pathetic as the rest of the world says it is, hes gong to end it, because he's got nothing left but his family and if they find out they are going to throw him out.

No psychologist has been consulted as of yet. IDK what to do- I mean, on the outside this kid is about the same as us, has a car stereo, likes to get drunk once in awhile, only difference being that he has no "real" interest in girls or( guys for that matter). And all this depressive stuff is sort of crazy...

(well if anything, a change from the standard "girl trouble", for sure.)

consult a psychiatrist
Yea, should be done. I tried talking to one over the phone and they wouldn't tell me anything but bring him in, it would be completely confidential if he has his own insurance, which he does not, and his parents are cheap ***** and I'll bet their insurance does not cover anything like this, so confidential or not, we have to find someone cheap.

Hes a sick ****. Tell him that, and explain that he needs to **** it up and deal with his problem. Does he try to say he was "born that way", the way gays do?

He has a sickness, and he needs to get it taken care of.

i think you just need to be a friend for now and give him the support that he needs. let him know that he is okay. see if you can help him out with the mental side of this issue and see what you can do for him. if it gets any worse i would see if you can have him talk to a psychiatrist, but first he needs to know that he isnt sick. if you tell him he needs to go see a shrink he most likely will go off the deep end. for now though, just be a friend to him. he obviously trusts you.

Not a psychiatrist, a psychologist or therapist. Psychiatrists prescribe medication, they don't do much in the way of therapy. Usually people have to get referrals from a GP or psychologist also.

But yeah, if he's suicidal at all, don't brush it off. I made that mistake once. I won't do it again.
