What does this mean? You have the speakers Low Passed at 160 hz?? You have the wrong filter. They should be High Passed at 80, or 63 hz if your doors will allow it.on the HU the lows are at 160?hz.
No, not on the HU, on the amp. What are your pass filters on the amp set to?on the HU the lows are at 160?hz. ive played around with this and found that to give the best midbass. i have gotten them to sound pretty good. im just worried about having to turn the volume up to 50 or so to get them to come alive.
What would the point of that be?No, not on the HU, on the amp. What are your pass filters on the amp set to?
Side note- I'd recommend you defeat all HU pass filters and EQ settings until the amp pass filters are appropriately set.
The point of that would be that the filters would still be set if the battery ever needs to be disconnected or it discharges overnight, or a similar catastrophy that would cause the HU to lose all the settings. T'would be very bad to get a charge back in there and forget to set the HU filters before turning up the volume.....What would the point of that be?
If the HU can do a HP on his front speakers at 80hz, he wouldn't need to use the filters on the amp...it's a bit redundant, especially if the HU's filters are adjustable since he can do all the tuning sitting in the driver seat instead of going into the trunk every time he wants to make an adjustment.
Glad to hear it made some improvement. Have you messed with the HU's EQ at all to maybe tune/boost the midbass any?its not an active HU so i cant control just the front speakers. i get what they were saying and... my god were you guys rite!
i feel stupid for having the filter off now. i guess i figured the hu and the passive filter would take care of that. but ****... its sounds so much better now. still no real midBASS but big time midrange. ive got the mids at lower volume and great sound at high. im sure if i seal that hole and play with the filter more ill get the bass out of them too.
i played my 1st opera song just b4 i turned on the filter and just after. "song to the moon". im amazed at how much better it sounded after the filter.
Try it.Defenetly close up that hole in the door.In the mean time, try switching the phase of one of the speakers, I usually do the drivers side one. Only switch one.
Just reverse the pos and negative. Results can be surprising.
no way... one out of phase would drag down the other side. ive done it on accident b4. never makes it better.Try it.
I wouldn't say never....no way... one out of phase would drag down the other side. ive done it on accident b4. never makes it better.
Oh closed minded one. Never say never as they say.no way... one out of phase would drag down the other side. ive done it on accident b4. never makes it better.
