lol sorry man i just sold me pdx4.100 the other day. i might look for an amp thatll go active soon and sell my 4.150. ill let you know.

i wont give up on the pioneers till i get the hole sealed.

id really like a tip on how to fix those striped plastic nuts in the doors if anyone has any ideas on how to do that b4 i take my doors off again. thanks for all the help guys!

So, you're running the comps full range, then? If so, ou might want to put a HPF on them at, say, 63 to 80 Hz. Be sure the sub LPF is around the same, as well.

on the HU the lows are at 160?hz. ive played around with this and found that to give the best midbass. i have gotten them to sound pretty good. im just worried about having to turn the volume up to 50 or so to get them to come alive.

What does this mean? You have the speakers Low Passed at 160 hz?? You have the wrong filter. They should be High Passed at 80, or 63 hz if your doors will allow it.

Also, post a picture of your door so we can see what they are mounted to and the size of this hole in your door.

No, not on the HU, on the amp. What are your pass filters on the amp set to?

HP for the comps at 80 Hz. LP for the subs at 80 Hz.

Try it at around 63 Hz for each, as well.

If the HU can do a HP on his front speakers at 80hz, he wouldn't need to use the filters on the amp...it's a bit redundant, especially if the HU's filters are adjustable since he can do all the tuning sitting in the driver seat instead of going into the trunk every time he wants to make an adjustment.

The point of that would be that the filters would still be set if the battery ever needs to be disconnected or it discharges overnight, or a similar catastrophy that would cause the HU to lose all the settings. T'would be very bad to get a charge back in there and forget to set the HU filters before turning up the volume.....

Glad to hear it made some improvement. Have you messed with the HU's EQ at all to maybe tune/boost the midbass any?

Also, care to list what all your amp pass filters are set at now and have you turned off all the HU's pass filters?

amp is set around 80, not exactly sure because there is a tick at 110 and one at 60 so i put it in between those. high pass filter on the hu is off. played with the EQ a little. ill keep playing with it when i get the chance.

Set them (the comps HP and the subs LP filters on the amp) a smidge above the 60 Hz mark (somewhere in the 63-70 Hz arena), as that should help out with the midbass. Then add whatever EQ'ing you desire.

Defenetly close up that hole in the door.In the mean time, try switching the phase of one of the speakers, I usually do the drivers side one. Only switch one.

Just reverse the pos and negative. Results can be surprising.

I wouldn't say never....

It might not have worked for you in the past, but it can be very effective. It's worth trying at least once. Try flipping the phase of each driver individually, the results can sometimes be surprising.

Also, you do know that all T/A does is incrementally adjust the phase of each speaker, right? Swapping the pos and neg does 180*
