More gain=less SQ?

I currently have my Lightning audio 250.1 amps gain to full, if i lower this setting to 3/4 or so then will i gain some SQ? I just notice my sub sounds like a big buzz over all the music, its getting to be almost annoying.

you could yes, becuase since you have the gain all the way up your are clipping like no other and causing distortion. set your gain with a dmm and it will sound better.

that lil buzz is called clipping. set your gains via the gain tutorial setting on this forum.

The problem is that your amp isn't capable of putting out enough clean power to make that Type-R as loud as you think it's supposed to be.

Time to buy a new amp. And set the gain correctly.

I have the "Juice boost" set to full as well, should i lower this setting as well as the gain? I lowerd the gain and it didnt have to much of an effect.

... yeah... turn that all the way down and pour super glue all over it... that knob is the SQ Devil.
