k 2 weeks ago my headunit broke down...and now my alarm is acting weird...whenever i disarm or arm it, instead of making the normal chirps sometimes it makes a different noise or tone....it still works as an alarm though..i just dont know what this problem is...but right now it seems to be fine...even though once in awhile it has this problem...

i was going to get a back up siren and battery..but not nemore cuz my alarm may break down...

u got know what this is?

check the ground for the alarm brain. my co-worker installed an alarm and then started testing it and the alarm made all sorts of wierd noises, like it was dying.

Turned out the ground had came un-grounded.

My HU is breaking too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. It's a pioneer I've had for about two years. The faceplate is acting like it's not connected to the unit when I push down on it and sometimes it does it on its own.

is it detachable face, if so you gotta clean the connections every so often. If I hit a pothole, sometimes the face will go blank but the music still plays...I call it the el chamelon look (making fun of a past (i believe) jvc unit)...anyways. use some non-consumable type of alchohol on a q-tio and clean the connections. You should be good to go.

hey that might be it...but here's the thing...right now its normal and fine...

but i only heard the dying noises right after i drive sometimes...maybe from driving the ground is coming loose...u think?

oh yeah and also...one more whenever the alarm goes off i disarm it by pressing arm (thats normal) but like 2 seconds it goes off again...the only way to stop the siren is to press disarm after i arm it..

is this oaky?

Sirens go bad if they get enough moisture in them. They will also change tone if they have just a little moisture in them. You can try a new siren, or it might dry out and go back to normal..but usually they dont.
