more bad luck...RE sub damaged....it sucks

first it was the issue of mismatching the impedance of the sub and amp....and now this. The XXX 15 RE sent to me to india is damaged. The basket has cracks at 2 points and the lower stack magnet has shifted from its original position.The cone has no movement at all. The sub CANNOT be used. What should i do??? RE sent it through Fedex and fedex came and inspected the sub and saw the damage. Will i have to pay for a new one?? HELP!!!!

I would hope the thing was insured, otherwise somebody ****ed up.

That's got to be FedEx's fault. RE is the one that would have to talk to FedEx about it, I'd imagine, since they are the ones who had FedEx ship it and you are merely the recipient. RE will probably just send you a new driver.

in a perfect world, fedex would reimburse RE, and then RE would send u another one. and dang dude how long did it take to ship to india?

RE has to make good as FedEx will take at least 2 months to pay on the insurance and they will only pay to the account holder so RE has to take that hit for this one. Should have packed it better.

You ever get a sub from RE? Seen their packing?

The only series of drivers i have got that were in just cardboard are the RE8''s, everything else has been packed like a tank

Its usually a 1/2''-3/4'' piece of plywood on the bottom, a frame is built with 2x4's at all 4 corners the exact height of the sub, and then another piece of plywood at the top making it its own little crate, and then they usually add foam (last time i got foam, i looked at the pieces and it looked like it was scraps of large RE logos LOL.

So to say it was it in their packing...in my mind....is total wrong

Fedex can get a little rough with the packages time to time, as anything that is shipped in freight (i work unloading loose freight trucks, trust me, ive seen my fair share of broken product)
