Mono or stereo output for subwoofer on head unit???

on my alpine cda-7897 you can choose stereo or mono ouput for the subwoofer output. Which would be better? Im running an audiobahn a18001dq for the subwoofer? What would it change, will the amp push more power on mono?

it doesn't matter the sub will only put out mono unless it is running of a singlr channel of a stereo amp
