Mono or 2-channel

Which would be better to run a set of components on? A class D mono block or a class A/B 2-channel amp? What would be the major difference

there are class D full range 2 & 4 channel amps as well.

You would not want to run your frontstage from a single mono amplifier. The frontstage must be ran in stereo with independent left and right channels.

And most class D "mono" amps are designed strictly for subwoofer duty and as such are bandwidth limited.
