Mono or 2 Channel?

I have two Audiobahn AW1200Q subs. I have had them for a year now and they ran great on a 2 channel amp by hifonics. But now all of a sudden the amp goes into protect and people tell me i need a bigger amp or two mono amps for the subs because they are 750rms. Any idea on what to do? any suggestions?

How do you have the subs wired. What is their continuous power rating. What type of power does your current amp produce when bridged into a 4 ohm load??
