Monday morning, is this absurd or is life just absurd?

Woke up, showered.

Went to make breakfast, instead paused.

Took a beer out of the fridge. Opened. Glanced across my living room, saw homemade thermos bong. Packed nugget, inhaled smoke.

Went about normal morning preparatory routines. About to leave.

Normally, I'd say this was addictive or deviant behavior, but it really doesn't feel negative at all to me right now. I'll still be at work on time, ready to rock some SQL queries.

Anyone else ever found themselves here in this odd state of mind? It's almost a detachment, but its not a disconnect. Very odd indeed.

i don't smoke often, but I have been known to drink in the morning a few times. Usually if I drink on a thursday night and wake up still drunk, i'll take a few shots before I go to class and that way I can go to class hammered

All systems of mortality are based on the idea that an action has consequences that legitimize or cancel it. A mind imbued with the absurd merely judges that those consequences must be considered calmly. It is ready to pay up. In other words, there may be responsible persons, but there are no guilty ones, in its opinion. At very most, such a mind will consent to use past experience as a basis for its future actions.

If the past shall resemble the future, all choices will be able to be rendered irrelevant, leaving me with precisely that lack of guilt.

All thats left is to erect a facade of responsibility and I can live the best of both worlds. Or probably more accurately, the mediocrity of both worlds.

Hi ho.

I used to smoke before work and smoked for years while working when I used to drive a cab. Unfortunately I have a house and car notes now along with a slew of other bills so being kind of paranoid I just don't do it anymore as much as it makes the day go by faster.

i used to allways smoke a little bit before school... then once out of school before work.. after a few year's of doing so, just wasent worth it to me any more... id burn out by the middle of the day..

now if i have the day off, and nothing to do... that's a diff story.

ive gotten to the point where id rather be up, awake, aware, and ready for the day.

now nothing beats an after work toke.. makes it sooo much more worth it..

People who live in society have learned to see themselves in mirrors as they appear to their friends. Is that why my flesh is *****? You might say - yes you might say, nature without humanity… Things are bad! Things are very bad: I have it, the filth, the Nausea.

Faulkton, how old are you.. you must be from the 60's... i so wish i could have come up in those times..

i had a guy i worked with. he had been in cali from 1961-72.. he would tell me things. and come up with this off the wall stuff... i thought he was a genus one day, and a crazy man the next.. words could not discribe this guys thought pattern..

No i am not from the 60s, but my parents were.

I grew up in the 1990s and ingested copious amounts of lsd as a youth.

My thought patters are wack yo.

That is not to say i take credit for previous posts in this thread, they were written by French men between 1938-1942.
