i seen it on a web site for pretty cheap. what would you compare them to?

I have seen the MOFO too. Power acoustik has always made pretty good amps for the price. Their amps aren't up to the competition level stuff some of these guys are into. The new Class-D amps are good though. Anyway, the MOFO appears to be built very strong, and can handle quite a bit of power. I had thought about looking into them but bought my audiobahns instead. I still wonder how good they will do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif. I would really like to know. They appear to be good though. Until someone tries well never know.:

not sure about on the dash, but with one mofo 15'' in port wars on an audiocontrol mic and about 2500 watts of power, the local power acoustik dealer is breaking 170db's consistently in the port. Now with the same one sub on the dash his scores are more like 145ish, which is still not too too bad. For the price I would say they are actually a decent sub.

Razorback Car Audio ran the MOFO 15" in the demo truck and did up in the 150's on the dash pretty easy, but I will say that they did manage to break one of them though, the basket literally broke in two down around the magnet and the frame of the basket.

what would you compare them to? are they strictly spl?

do you think audiobahns are better? the 1206 series.

better built, quality wise? handle more power

Yes they're definitely an SPL sub. I think a pair of MOFO's would kill a pair of 1206's. Check out some specs...

The mofo magnet is alot bigger than the 1206 and the dual 1ohm coils = GIVE ME A SHITLOAD OF POWER. Anyways, if it was up to me, I wouldn't get either of these subs. Check out the SE series @ http://www.respl.com yea they're a little more but they're alot better in my opinion.

no i wasnt planning on saying that...but in general louder subs have bigger magnets...i was just tryin to make a point that it's an spl sub

i'd still say get the audiobahn. i really don't like the mofo subs i heard one today at a local shop. they claim "155db legal easily" then i listen to it and i can sit there just fine. it's ran off of an old soundstream amp i think like 1000watts rms. oh and on that dual 1ohm coil, you couldn't wire that thing in parallel with 1 of them unless you have a .5ohm mono stable amp and i don't know of any that are stable that low, so you wire it in series i assume?? which gives you 2ohm mono same as the 1206 if your going to run 1 that is.

Dude I think your pretty stupid for dogging the MOFO. If you knew anything at all you would know that the MOFO is not crappy at all its actually a very good sub and can produce numbers that your Blaupunkt speakers can't. I have a 15" MOFO and it just slams and hit a 145 with about 900 Watts of power in a 1994 Mercury Cougar with a backseat that doesn't fold down. So if you knew anything at all you would realize how stupid you sound by dogging this beast.

yeah i'm sure it did. i smell your bullshit from a mile away on that one. answer these questions and i will believe you if they add up:

1) stock or upgraded electrical system??

2) in the port or on the dash???

3) what kind of mic??

4) what kind of box??

5) what kind of amp you running??

if those questions all add up then i might believe it. but considering a guy had a pair of 15"s in the trunk of a taurus about the same size as a cougar and he had about 3kw of power and only did a 149 i doubt your score VERY MUCH. also my subs outhit a Mofo 15" today on a meter.

Well the guy here with 1 12'' in a blazer with two of the poweracoustik 1800 watt amps I believe, does 172+in the port and 146 on the dash...if u take the actual output of those two amps combined your gettings like 1480 watts, PA rates them at 740RMS each. I think that is a decent number for a sub u can get for 200 or less online.
