MLB 2021

Acuna injury is rough, I've had a torn ACL before and it isn't a fun recovery. He has been injury prone all season though, seemed like it was one thing after another. Hopefully he can make it back next season 100%. Usually it takes at least a full year if not longer to get back to what he was doing before. Even if he shows up next year and does around 70% of what he is capable that will be a welcomed addition back to their lineup. Without another bat and pitcher I would say the Braves are out of it.

I know for the White Sox we lost Grandal which sucks but we get him back in 5-6 weeks we hope. Plus our Star OF Jimenz will begin a rehab assignment ahead of schedule. That should really help our power and batting as we need both. Headed to the Sox vs Brewers game next Saturday so that should be a good one two 1st place teams battling it out.

I really like this move. Braves trade a minor league first baseman for a pro outfielder. Freddie isn't going anywhere, I expect him to be in ATL for life like Chipper Jones. Speaking of which Chipper was on Dale Jr's podcast and it was good as always. So we needed an outfielder that can start today and got rid of a player we don't need. Now I'm back to believing we might actually win this division and make the playoffs.

Joc has always been one of those either he is going to crush the ball or strike out when it matters. Good player though on defense just needs to be a better hitter.

I'm sure this is the start of the trading all it takes is one person to make a move and next thing you know you hear about 10 more trades within a few days.

Not to be a Debby downer but Joc isn’t going to do a whole lot. He’s hitting .230 and strikes out almost 4 times per walk and has more K’s than hits.
You act like I don't know his stats. Bet my left nut he will play much better in Atlanta. We have offense hell we've scored 20 or more runs three times this years. We are fourth in baseball in home runs and runs scored per game. We just needed a decent outfielder to replace Acuna.

Cubs have already said they are going into complete rebuild mode. Total fire sale. We got Joc for nothing.

Braves need some pitching though as that is their weak spot. Offense is going to take a hit without Acuna though. But who knows how much till they get a few games in without him. 44-45 iirc and the NL East is just one of those divisions that seems to go to the last couple weeks of every year.

Giants are the surprise team of the NL. Really thought the Padres would be ahead at the break and the Dodgers are right there as always.

Cubs started the rebuild this past off-season somewhat but wanted to see if they could contend one more time. Brewers are just too strong in that division.

My White Sox need another RP bad as Marshall and a couple others are horrible. We have to pick something up or it will hurt us in the end and in the post season. With Eloy coming back sooner rather then later that will help out batting wise. Now if we can just get Roberts going at the end of August and early September our batting should be back to somewhat normal. It is amazing with all the injuries we have had we are ahead by 8 or so games in the AL Central. Still would like to see a bat off some sort come in like the Diamondbacks Escobar to take over at 2b which is a weak link with Mendick there with Madrigal out for the year.

Idk if I would give up much for Kimbrel. This season has been a rebound year but the year or so before that he was iffy. Solid CP though when he is right.

Welp, I now know this guy knows nothing

lol yeah sure look at the stats. You don't go 44-45 without some crap pitching, 16th in ERA at 4.24, 14th in home runs allowed and what 17th in WHIP and batting average against? Yeah you are right their pitching is great, lol. They need some pitching only Morton is above .500 and Smly has what a 4.40 something ERA as a starter? Lmfao just looked up the stats even their closer is 3-5 with a 3.75 ERA that isn't all that great as a CP. You expect your CP to get it done. They need another Starter of some sort and RP. They will not get it done with that kind of middle of the road pitching. You only come here to talk MLB when the Braves win or like when they picked up Joc a .190 hitter last year and a .230 hitter this year.

And Kimbrel was not good in 2019 and 2020. Stats prove it 6.58 ERA in 2019 and 5.28 last year. This year he has been good the last two el sucko.

Trying hard by posting actual stats? You’re saying the braves will win the division with the addition of him which is reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaching. His WAR is -.2 this year. Although I’m not arguing he will likely do better in ATL, it will be marginally better at best. Like Cool said, Braves need pitching and have for a few years now.
