is not good right? like i have 2 12 type r, is it bad to then add on to that but keep the type rs?
You already know the answer, obviously.is not good right? like i have 2 12 type r, is it bad to then add on to that but keep the type rs?
you mean with a different size or brand sub? no. and if you would have searched, you would have certainly found threads with this exact title.is not good right? like i have 2 12 type r, is it bad to then add on to that but keep the type rs?
i was guessing,You already know the answer, obviously.
No problem.i was guessing,
and i should have searched. sorry guys
agreed. i heard an old blazer with 2 15's ported, and 2 12's sealed. independantly amped and crossed over at different frequencies. i believe that it was strictly luck that it sounded good. most systems i've redone, where someone has done this, sounded horrible. No problem.
Yes, unless you are building a strict SPL rig, I would not recommend mixing subs (brand or size). And even in an SPL rig its usually a dumb idea.
If they were properly crossed at different frequencies, there shouldn't be any problem with it, which would be why it sounded good.agreed. i heard an old blazer with 2 15's ported, and 2 12's sealed. independantly amped and crossed over at different frequencies. i believe that it was strictly luck that it sounded good. most systems i've redone, where someone has done this, sounded horrible.
hahahaIts actually a great idea, pm cotjones for details
these guys didn't know enough about it, to have actually planned crossing it over right. i set the gains for them after seeing them at max volume at 13 on the head unit.If they were properly crossed at different frequencies, there shouldn't be any problem with it, which would be why it sounded good.
You are coming dangerously close to asking us about mono midbass. Please dont go there too.the reason i asked was becuase im thinking of building a center console, and putting like 8's in it or something. now mixing like door speakers doesent matter does it?
yes, it does. Any time you have different drivers trying to dominate the same frequencies, chances are it'd sound better if you belted out the vocals/bassline/etc yourself.the reason i asked was becuase im thinking of building a center console, and putting like 8's in it or something. now mixing like door speakers doesent matter does it?
That should work as long as you keep everything crossed over right.the reason i asked was becuase im thinking of building a center console, and putting like 8's in it or something. now mixing like door speakers doesent matter does it?
