Missing a wire for Type-R sub

So I just received a used Alpine Type-R 1243d sub and I'm running two of the 4 ohm DVC subs at 1ohm, so I should have 2 of the short cables (don't know what they are called) to connect the + to + and - to - terminals but only got one.. can I cut a small piece of speaker wire run between the two terminals instead? Don't really know how to explain this so I hope someone gets what I mean, if this doesn't make sense I can use Paint to draw a quick diagram to explain what I mean, thanks.

Ok, with the powers of google I found the answer. In case anyone is wondering or stumbles on here with the same problem I meant the Banana Cables and found that it's ok to use regular speaker wire instead.
