I can understand 16 year olds and 17 year olds getting in trouble. But I find it crazy 19 and 20 year olds can not consume alcohol. Here is a recent post I found and it seems to all be true.

"At 18, a person can enter into a service contract, purchase a car on payments, hold down many jobs, agree to a mortgage on a home, vote for elected leaders, even run for office, get married, join the military, be tried for capital murder and get sentenced to the electric chair, yet their judgement isn't developed enough to handle the intake of alcohol.

Is this ironic, or am I just getting bitter at the stupidity of some laws?

The 18, 19, or 20 yr old can go work 12 hour days Monday through Friday, hop in his car (that he's making payments on), go to the house which he has mortgaged, have dinner with his wife and kids, only to get up Saturday morning to report for formation at his National Guard Unit to be informed they are being activated to fight upon foreign soil, and he has a friend pick up a 6 pack for him, and attempts to enjoy a cold beer while watching SNL in his own home after a long week, only to go to face charges for MINOR IN POSSESSION?"

Well I got contributing to a minor for buying beer for my friend that was 20, he was going to be 21 in 2 months. Had to pay a $250 ticket and do 20 hours of cummunity service. At least he helped me pay the ticket.

Yes, it sucks, and it's dumb, but it's the law...so do something besides complain, or just deal with the consequences if you get caught while under age.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you completely, but it's just the way things are. Plus, I'm old enough to drink, so I stopped caring as much.

Well I'll be old enough, in a about a year from now. hehe... Not complaining, just came across that interesting post. I can understand 17 year olds but when your old enough to buy a house or get married?
