Minor Consumption

I got a minor consumption 2 months ago with a court date a month ago. I show up to court for a diversion trial, which is like you pay a fine and do some stuff if you plead guilty and it doesn't go on your record once you finish. When I get there they said the officer didn't sign some papers that said to proceed or whatever so they said go home and wait for another summons. I just got one, about a month later, and the dude didn't even give it to me... My sister found it like wrapped up and stuck in our fence. I find that unprofessional not to mention if it rained or the wind took it I would never know. So... Since the cop didn't sign it by the original court date shouldn't it be thrown out? And if I wasn't summoned in person shouldn't there be a law against that cause I would get a warrant for my arrest if my sister hadn't found that and I didn't show up..

I would love to just pay the fine but in Indiana it's a fine plus a class or community service plus probation with the possibility of a year without license and a possible 60 days of jail time

IN and PA are really different I know a kid with like 4 underages and all he had to do was take a class and pay some fines, I dont believe the jail time

They aren't going to send you to jail for a first offense over something so petty. At worst you might lose your license for a little bit (probably a few months, not a year) & have to pay the fine.

I wasn't gonna not show up I don't know what gave you guys that idea. I wasn't gonna go in and take the opinions of caraudio.com in as my argument either. I was just wondering what you guys thought... I thought it's a little bull shit that the officer isn't held responsible to sign what he needs to before the court date. They shouldn't be able to go back and sign stuff that was supposed to be signed months ago...

I plan on asking a lawyer but if they aren't going to drop it at this diversion trial I'm just gonna plead guilty cause I will get a lot less and it won't go on my record once I'm done the paying of fines and probation or whatever else I get
