minimum spacing between magnet and wall

Whats the minimum distance you'd recommend having between the magnet and the wall of the box for a sealed box? Its a small box, maybe 1.5cuft.

depends on the sub really, 2-3" i would say

If there's no vent for the pole piece, then there's no need for any spacing. 1" is plenty if there is a vent. The only reason you need to is to keep back-pressure from popping off the dust cap.
