Mini DV Tapes

I told my aunt to pick me up some mini dv tapes while I was at work, well she got some maxwell ones. I assume they are probally pretty cheap because she is that way, but no complains about it since she was nice enough to get them. I put them in and my camera eats the tape and then my screen goes to 'push the reset switch'. This happens over and over again. Is this cause of cheap tapes or is my camera broke?

I've been using maxwell tapes in one camera, sony in another. Never once seen a difference.

I think it's your camera. we have ran maxell, and sony, and find no difference.

Someone told me a few mins ago that you should run the same brand as the cam, because you don't want to mix the lubricants.

I use maxell tapes and never had a problem.

I too use Maxell, and never had any problems.

Believe me, mine have taken a beating!
