Hi all,
New to the forum (hello!) and have a question regarding my Pioneer AVIC-D3 2-DIN head unit if theres anyone around who can help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I currently have it installed in my 2006 ST Mondeo which I had a company fit a couple of years ago when the D3 first came out. Although i've done a fair amount of simple-ish car audio installations in the past, I thought with the money I was spending on that unit (and the Mondeo being brand new and not wanting to break it ) I got them to fit it.
Anyway, the Mondeo is being replaced with a 2006 Focus Titanium next week and i've got to move it over to that. Luckily they both use the same steering wheel control adaptor and the stereos are the same (black Sony ones) other than the new one has bluetooth.
Should that be quite a simple swap? There doesnt currently seem to be a CAN-BUS adaptor fitted in the Mondeo, just an adaptor which converts the plug the standard Sony head unit uses into the standard plugs I remember old Fords using. Then from that into the pioneer plug.
Is that right or must there be one in there somewhere?
Also I noticed the installer broke into a green/white cable within the wiring harness to connect up the speedo reading for the D3. Is that likely to be the same colour in the Focus?
I'm pretty sure this will be straight forward, but appreciate any response
Thanks in advance //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
