Midbass in blazer

I haven't worked on anything car related in a while but now it's warming up and I have a couple projects in mind. Right now, as I listen to my music there's a lack of sound around 80 hz up around 400, 500 range. The speakers and my equipment is in my sig. The first question I have is do you think that it would be worth it to upgrade to an 8" midbass/woofer in the door panel or will the sub most likely drown it out? Right now, my 6.5's are in a plastic pod in the door and there is no deadening:crap:

What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Sounds like your 6.5's need more airspace. Are the plastic pods on the door sealed? What speakers are you using ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Try running them IB and see if that helps. Get some 1/2 mdf spacers to use so you want be screwing the speaker to metal. Metal against metal always seems to make some form of rattling noise at least this has been the case with all my installs.

I have the phoenix gold rsd 6.5. I am going to put deadening in there soon. But what do you suggest for the mids? A bigger pod or let them free air?
I would free air them and listen to the difference. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and using an actual baffle will increase the output on the low end. The output will now be output instead of wasted vibrations of the thin sheet metal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
