Midbass 3.5" Rear Door or 6x9" Rear Shelf?

I have a set of CDT Audio MX-6CV components installed in the front doors and a SoundQubed HDS312 subwoofer in the trunk compartment.

There are 3.5" mount spots available in the rear doors and 6x9 in the rear shelf. Should I go with some 3.5" midbass drivers in the doors? Any good recommendations?

Is it 'better' to use the 6x9 rear deck location to mount a pair of 6x9 midbass drivers? Will they perform in the open space with subwoofer?

A 3.5" midbass speaker may work OK in a home speaker, but that's a poor idea for a car. You want cone area for midbass, and 6x9s are nearly equivalent to an 8" woofer.
Will the 6x9s perform well in the open space or will they be competing too much with subwoofer? Would they need enclosure?

Pressure from loud bass has been known to cause damage to rear deck speakers. All of the CDT 6x9 subs are designed to work well in this application.
