Metrik 12 inch powered tube sub installation

Hello all,

This is my first time ever on here and this place seems very helpful. I'm really not very good with car audio stuff but I want to learn so if anyone can help it would be appreciated. Anyways, on to my question.

Okay, had to edit.

I got a metrik powered tube subwoofer. for a very good price. just thought i would try one out. anyways. how do i install it? what do i need? do i just connect RCA and the speaker wire thats it? do i have to wire it from my deck all the way to the trunk? help me. thanks.

Since it's a powered tube with an internal amp, it's already wired so there is no need to run speaker wire (deck amp power wouldn't be enough anyways).

All you need to do is run the RCA cable from the deck to the tube. What does your deck have for RCA outputs? Front, rear, sub?

I'm at work right now but i think it has front/rear. and then two other rca inputs. i'm guessing it's for subs? So I just connect the RCA and it should just work? just as simple as that?

As simple as that? ehh. Simple (and don't take offense), take it to a shop. Paythem the 60 or so dollars to do the install for you. We can't help you with the info you've provided so far.

What kind of a deck do you have?

What kind of car?

Are you sure, it's a powered sub? Can you post a pic?

Um, I'm probably forgeting a question of two to ask you.

good luck.

Power lead (fused) from battery to amp.

Ground from amp to chassis.

Remote turn on lead from head unit to amp.

RCA interconnects from head unit to amp.

Thats what you need.

Okay well i guess it's not that simple. hahah.

I have a Kenwood KD Mp something. it plays mp3/wma. I forgot exactly what it is. but it's a good nice unit.

Car = 00' Honda civic

I don't want to pay the shop to do it just cus i know my brother knows how but since i'm at work i thought i would get some help online right now. plus my brother lives about an hour away. so i wouldnt pay someone to hook it up, it's simple enough where i can read some places and try it myself so i can learn.

I guess i need to hook it up the way Jsloan said to. sounds right. i'll read into those things.

thanks everyone.

still a little lost on what to do, but i'mma try then i'll come back to ask some more questions.

Get yer butt to Wal-Mart and pick up a cheap amp kit to get all the stuff you need to hook it up, on the back of the package(or inside) there should be a diagram to give you a basic idea on how to wire it.

okay, so i just noticed that all the wire and stuff is there in my trunk but just cut and tucked in the creased or whateva. My whole system was stolen awhile back ago. so i guess i need to get a new fuse, hook the red wire together, plug in the rca, and hook up the ground to the chassis. and boom bam. that shit is done. told u it was that simple. just puttin wires together. hahha.

Man. finished last night. took about an hour to put it in. something was wrong with my wires in my deck. couldnt find the remote wire so it took a while for me to look for it. went thru all the wires. i guess all those wires been messed with so many times that it was all mixed up in colors. dang it. but got it in. finito. now my trunk bumps and rattles. it's pretty nice for a tube subwoofer. it bangs real hard and thats half of what it gots. i'm just breakin it in right now. so yup. thanks for the help everyone and all the haters out there. peace to this site. bye.
