ETA: What we have here is a pointless gripe by the OP. Thanks for playing "Thread of Fail" and have a nice day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And so long as they tell us they are doing it, that makes it okay, right? I notice not one of you guys defending this business practice stepped up to address the issue I mentioned. Not one. Not interested in the shades of gray I guess? Neither is Memphis, obviously.

Apparently we should consider any used Memphis product as non-authorized and assume its street value accordingly, unless the product is accompanied by an original receipt.

Buying used you should never assume that the warranty is transferable, most of them aren't anyway. Buying used is a gamble for that reason, if you get something that works you got a great deal, if not, well, you are not going to get warranty service anyway.

Better yet, I had so many problems with Memphis amplifiers purchased in 2007 and 2008, I vowed NEVER to run one again until they change their circuit board design. In other words, I don't care for the FETS supporting the circuit board:verymad:

Now I did purchase a pair of used M Class 12s for my girlfriend's vehicle and they came with a receipt from an authorized dealer:D I purchased the pair for less than what one unauthorized new one would have cost and I still have a warranty:D

But getting back to your point... If there is no receipt, you should tread lightly when purchasing a used Memphis Car Audio Product. As I said, I found out the hard way what their policy was because I had products purchased from both authorized and unauthorized sources. Now I just avoid their amps like the plague!

If anything, this thread should serve as a warning to those purchasing Memphis Car Audio products from unauthorized sources by letting them know that they are on their own!
