Memphis and absolute

:crap:
A buddy of mine bought a 15PR104D the power reference 10 dual 4.

This is the Specs of the sub.

He bought a absolute amp to go with it.

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=12543

The specs on the memphis for a ported box is like 1.0 cu.ft. tuned to 40 hz.

The vehicle is a jeep wrangler.

Now is this the optimum box size for this sub and amp?

He wants to have the sub face the back of his back seats, Should the port also face the same way as the sub or can it come out one of the sides.

Anyone have any experience with this sub?

What size box would be best and what should it be tuned to?

he could have it face the front but he would have to give the port some breathing room, did he get 2 subs or 1, if he got 1 sub i would go with a lil bit of a bigger box say lik 1.5 - 2.0 cf after displacement, local shop in the my area has the PR's in a 2.5cf box tuned to 40hz and they pound, def. a good budget sub, also will take a lil bit more than rated

No he only bought the one 10". I was thinking of having the port come out the side, either a slot or a round port.

I was afraid someone would say make the box bigger, he just doesnt have the room for an enclosure that size.

I guess maybe the best option would be to go sealed, but he is set on having a ported box, but not willing to give up extra space for it. Im doing the installation and I dont want to build something that wont sound good but he wants a small ported box..

??????

my friend has a pr10 in a ext cab has it in a .75 down fire and it doesn't sound that great imo. but that maybe due to the fact he has a old lanzar amp and a old jvc deck but there is a big diff. in output

i've ran a single pr10 in .88 ported, tuned to 38hx in my ex cab pickup...quite loud for a entry level sub...pics below...i also ran it off 70wrms, most ppl thought i had 200 wrms or 2 10's..they can get quite loud..

they are actually, IMO, the best bargain namebrand sub on the market...we've replaced many a compvr witht the pr's and gained spl everytime....same with w0's...

go ahead and run it in the 1ft^3 ported...use the recommended round port (or same size slot)....u won't be disappointed....

also, though it is best to have the port and sub and the same side..it's not that big of a deal....go ahead and run the port to the side...

and if that amp puts out it's rated power, it's the perfect amp for it...if he got a single 4vc
