Memphis amp remote

Not sure if this is the right place, but i have an older Memphis prx-1500.1 amp. I've been looking for the remote bass/gain knob and haven't had any luck, Its the older telephone cord style plug in. Any recommendations on where to look? Its smaller than an ethernet cord plug.

So are the Universal RCA knobs actual gain control? Or just a separate volume knob?

They work like a gain control by reducing or increasing rca voltage to your amplifier ...

So i hooked up the universal knob and it cut all audio in half. No bass, can hardly hear the words. Speakers also pop/hit when i plug rca jacks in. Any idea what the issue is?
