I found a memphis 15-C312D4 for a $160.00. Good price? Brand new in the box from a Memphis authorized dealer. Here is some specs on it. 600RMS/1200Max Sensitivity: 86 dB Magnet size 82 oz Mounting Depth 6.5"

I'm going to wire the sub down to a 2 ohm.

Now for the questions. So I be looking for a amp that delivers 600 RMS 2@Ohms?

These are the amp I'm looking into

16-MC1.1500

375W RMS POWER @ 4ohms

750W x1 RMS POWER @ 2ohms

1500W x 1 RMS POWER @ 1ohms

N/A @ BRIDGE MONO POWER @ 4ohms

THD% @ 4ohms 0.50

FREQUENCY RESPONSE 20Hz - 650Hz

Now how much space do I need behind the sub to the back of sub box? The reason ask is because I want to make a long width box and not a deep box.

Very good price for the C312. That is about half of retail. I don't like that you are looking at going with a 1,500w amp, just to get 600w rms @ 2ohms to that sub. Unless you are getting a great deal on the amp, it would be cheaper to get a pair of the C312s, running them in parallel, arriving at a 1ohm load at the amp. Then you could slap a PR1000 amp on them and get twice the power in rms and twice the cone surface area, for about the same price as running the one sub with the massice 1500w amp.

There's nothing wrong with having power on tap for future upgrades...

Thanks for the info. Now that you mention two C312. I can get two of them @ $160.00 a piece. Then run a the 1500 Watt Amp.

What do you think of that?
