This subwoofer is mines soon. I hope you are right about the mechanical noise when its not inverted. Sounds pretty noticeable. From just the videos I'm having second thoughts, so hopefully the sound is not there when we unmount it and test it flipped over... We'll see how things go. I noticed the comments on smd too. We'll definitely have to talk tomorrow. Is this thing still under warranty? If you are unsure can you check..

I spoke with David(TeamPSI), he said its just air noise & pretty much not to worry about it.

i'll check the warranty as soon as i can, hopefully before we meet up

how did you blow yours?, mine is not blown at all...

I recieved mine with some kind of loose piece in the cone. At first it didn't affect performance but after a while i started to notice a loud mechanical noise on certain notes. About two days after that (sub was getting 1800w @ 1) the sub stopped playing altogether. No smoke or anything, I hooked it up to a dmm and both coils were shot....Same EXACT thing happen to 95volvosx's mx...

hmm. mine is not experiencing any problems. its been a few months now. 2 guys before me who had the sub threw more power than i did with no problems.

rtilarre was the original first owner, he had a pair of mx's. one he sold to that volvo guy and 2nd he sold to alxmller. i have alexs one. rillaree told me he bought the 2 mx'x at 2 different times, one has a warranty the other doesnt. since volvos blew like yours and u said something broke off that means u guys had the older ones. mine is the newer one he had( i think) and probally has the aluminium part on it instead of the plastic piece....i THINK

Yeah I don't know what the problem is, I took it to an RE dealer and he said he had never heard/seen anything like it. I'm feeling seriously ripped off, but it's really too late to do anything.

well im glad i dont have your version. quaker just took the sub from me today he is building a box for it tomarrow to test it in a ported box hopefully he likes it

that thing is making some hella mechanical noise. I would send it back to RE and have them check it out, that is definately not normal.

i was going to say something about that. sounds odd to me
