So I was hunting for copper lugs yesterday without much luck... The studs on my alt are 5/16 power and ground... The studs on my fuze block to battery are also 5/16 bolt studs... I can't find 1/0 5/16 lugs anywhere but the internet... Napa was still sold out of 1/0 lugs from the first time I big3'd my trucks so this is what I'm looking at

Copper Lugs, Heavy Duty Copper Lugs

I'm thinking about ordering their tinned copper lugs dubbed corrosion resistant... Only concern is will it have the same resistance/ transfer electrical energy just as well as plain solid copper lugs??

Anyone have any experience with these?

So the tinned ones are good?

if the studs are too small just drill them out, ive had to do that for almost all my lugs.
The problem is that all lugs I were able to find had a 3/8 stud hole and was too big I want my lugs snug on all connections

my bad that makes more sense. i have some lugs that are larger than the hole and they're not lose but im pretty persistent about keeping terminals tight

Yea I just feel with my 370a alt the more surface area making connection/ the tighter the lug fits on the stud the better electrical transfer I will get... I could be wrong but whatever lol I ordered from crimp supply. Company based out of Michigan... They should be here Friday

Or you can make your own from 1/2" copper pipes. I just press (hydraulic press) the part that is flat and drill a hole before soldering the 1/0.
Ive never thought of that..Actually pretty good idea..Creative man.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

THIS!!! lol

im an hvac tech, so im always soldering(brazing actually) refrigerant lines.. scraps are easy to come by for me. especially after i see how much they are in an auto parts store.

EDIT: OP tip for soldering : ALWAYS sand inside of all fittings!! use a 3/8" wire brush to remove oxidation, and do not forget the flux!

Also, ensure you cut off a 1/2" of wire to get un-oxidized copper to start with. your get a much more conductive weld

heat shrink can be had around 50 cent per foot at harbor freight
