what's wrong with your explorer?

you can hear mine for 3 blocks downtown on saturday night when the club music is up... and it's fully deadened etc. etc.

what year explorer are we talking about? I am not a huge fan of how much noise gets "out" of mine

it's plenty loud inside, roof flexes up and down over an inch in the middle, jumps your vision over a half inch on certain notes, makes you feel sick after a while. i once parked it and walked away from it playing music, i could hear the highs about 300 ft away and the bass probably 1500-1800 ft away. maybe farther if it was quiet, i was a half mile or so from the interstate. most blocks are around 1000 ft where i live.

Same here with my 05 Explorer, loud as all hell on the inside, hardly anything on the outside. The sound doesen't travel very far to the ear, but it will shake things from a long ways a way like windows and piping inside of buildings. It's wierd.

yeah, i dunno.

I honestly figure yoru system is about as loud as mine- I wish i coudl find a way to deaden it etc. that would keep more of the sound in the car. I'm just running 3 9500 15" mtx's with a 942 on each one (well, i used to run more power- but that's what i will be running come spring)

btw- i have a massive mdf/fiberglass brace on my roof- really made things sound better (i know it's also not legal in most spl classes etc. etc.- and i don't care)

He has a 2000 Blazer, FULLY dynamatted, with two 12" JL W3V2's in a custom sealed box, ran off a JL 500/1, he claims to be in the low 150s with this setup? im skeptical, hes only pushing 500 watts and has a sealed box, regardless of how good a vehicle or subs he has.

the only deadener i have so far is from sealing up my doors though. i have another 100 or so sq ft of raammat, just never got around to putting it in. i dont turn my system all the way up much, so the flexing and rattling hasnt gotten on my nerves much. (i know it will sound better at any volume)

He has a suv, which is like a hatchback. So he will probably be just as loud if not louder, I dont care if you have your back seats out or not. Just cause you take out your back seats dont mean you are gonna be as loud as a blazer. Your still in a trunk. My back seats fold down and my friend has half the power going to the same sub I have and his is loud enough to tell his is louder.

I'd say you 2 may be the same.

My buddy has a 2000 Blazer with a Pioneer Primer and a PA 3000 hook up to it.

He only has highs. He has a box tuned to 45hz. It is murderous though.

I have a 15" Kicker L7 in a ported box running 1300rms. It blows his blazer out of the water. His highs are louder, but overall mine just plays more levels louder.

He's smoking crack. I would bet he is barely over 140 with 500 watts and a sealed box. It amazes me when people just pull #s outta their *** without even thinking if it is even possible.

bingo...what the hell. somethings wrong if you cant hear it from FAR away. i swear to god my friends explorer with a single 15" xxx off a PA 3000db you can hear from farther than shit. mine too. the difference? he likes the fact that you can hear his from so far away...i dont...
