Or you could shoot yourself in the forehead.

Look through the Yellow Pages for Home Improvement/Hardware stores, cabinetry/carpentry shops, and lumber supply yards. You should be able to find something.

Or you could go with baltic birch.......right ditto? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif

A little TOO pourus for my taste!:thumbsdow I could use birch, but TOO $$expensive$$!:thumbsdow
Most people around here use partical board and it works perfectly fine.....cheaper too...could always put some resin on the inside....but anyways, it works just as good as MDF.

Isn't partical board thin/flexing? I'm starting to get a collection of subs, but they're larger and probably need a strong box.

Well, brace your box....DUH //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif untill someone can prove to me that MDF is worth the extra money then ill start using, but untill then, ill keep on using it.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smokin.gif.f1dc8d2acb1809e863ebd6a47eaa0d45.gif

Home Depot here never has MDF either.... Only Particle Board...

I would not use Particle Board myself, just personal pref...

Particel board seems to Flake and chip more if you

A. Use a router on it to do custom shapes or bevels and what not

B. Cut at angles or anything other than straight line

Also, even if you pre-drill the holes Particle board seems like it splits more often than MDF...

Just some things I have noticed...

never been a fan of particle board myself......and around here you can get mdf for only 4$ more a sheet.....

lowes almost always has their miscuts on sale....i got a 4'1" x 8'1" for dirt :veryhappy
