mcintosh mac 1700 reciever

my buddy found one WORKING in an alley, we were wondering what its worth. the only thing wrong is the glass covering the station dial is cracked, other than that it sounds great. just curious if anyone here knows anything about it. thx in advance

yea i think he wants to sell it, most likely will be locally if possible. he wanted me to get a general idea of what its worth first, i found one in good shape going for ~600

Hmmm...

What I know...

Made in the 70's. ~45 Watts. Hybrid SS (Amp) and Tube(Pre/Tuner). And they like to throw DC, so be careful with it.

I'd say it's worth about $250 tops. These was a pretty cheap product made by McIntosh.

$350 if it was in prefect condition and had fresh tubes, clean sockets, fully aligned, and had the output transistors replaced with ones that don't throw DC.
