MB Quart subs = over or under rated?

I'm running a single MB Quart RWE-302 (http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3415) in a 1.21 cu ft sealed box. It's powered by an Orion 300D at the moment getting 300wrms. The way the sub sounds is like I'm not giving it enough power. So I'm looking to upgrade the amp. Before I invest into another amp, I wanted to know if I can power this sub more than what it calls for (500wrms)? For $79 dollars you can afford trail and error. Do they sound good in that enclosure?

Honestly, most speakers will take more than their RMS if your sending them clean power on music.

Also, if it's maxxsonics, i usually consider it over rated. But that is typically in reference to their amps.

i think i heard that sub before. when i was in college a friend of my had that 1 in a sealed box and i was very impressed with it

Its hard to explain. If I'm playing music (hip hop that is) @ 50% volume or lower, its very mellow and close to unnoticeable. But when I crank it 80% volume, that's when it goes ape shit and sounding very nice. Like a sub meant to be played at higher volume.

BTW, its an excellent SQ sub.

Just giver it more powa,it can take it. Had the 15's in this sub and they are very well built and have no problem taking what they are rated at. Feed it man,dont starve it!
