I recently bought a MB Quart QSD 216 Component Set for my truck. The QWD 160 (6.5" Woofer) has what appears to be a dual voice coil on it because it has terminals on both sides of the speaker. The tweeter only has one terminal on it. The owner's manuel doesn't explain too great how to hook this up. It just shows the wires going to the component. How should the wires be connected to the voice coil, in parallel or series. The crossover that came with it is set up for 4 ohm so I know that however I connect it it should equal that amount. I know the formula for finding resistance, I just need to know what I shouldn't or can't do. Alls that I'm trying to achieve is a standard setup. If anyone can let me know if this is actually a dual voice coil and explain a little more detailed to me how I should hook these up please let me know. I'm a little confused right now. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Chad Bunch.
