Model: PWD-304
These 12" subwoofers are pretty rare. They are made in Germany by MB quart as part of their premium series and have a really wide magnet slug (the widest i've seen). The cone is hand woven fiber and the dustcap is stitched on. It would be awesome if someone mounted these inverted. The back of the woofer says 17hz-300hz 300-1000 watts rms.
The only problem with these is my clumsy hands poked the surround on one and the other has a line in the surround. both need minimal amounts of silicone underneath the surround and they're good to go.
They are probably best for someone into musical bass, although they have a very large voice coil.
I found this general price online:
PWD-304 – new $449.99 clearance $199.99
so I'll price these at $100 shipped each.
DVC4 each.
this is a review I found online:
Price Paid: $230.00 from CAD
Year / Model Reviewed:
1996 Golf Gti
Summary:
The MB Quart PWD 304 is a well finished subwoofer, with a cast basket (chrome detailing on the magnet), a woven composite fibre cone, and an Iron Ferrite magnet.
Strengths:
Sound quality is excellent, as is the frequency response, hitting hard for a 12" even at 20hz. I''m running it off a Cadence A7HC at 2 ohms (approx 1000W RMS) and it''s handling the power with no problems. Good SPL (only a few DB less than my previous 12" Solobaric L7 which I fried running at 2 ohms).
Weaknesses:
cone design not attractive to everyone
Similar Products Used:
I''m running a set of MB Quart DSD216 components up front with an alpine MRVT505 amp, and a pioneer meh9000 head unit.
as a size reference, the speaker in the back is an 8 inch sub.
