Maxxlink ohm load question?

dude,

ok you have four 1000D'S you can strap pairs. which gives you 2000rms @ 2 ohms. which means you still have 4000rms just at 2 ohms. What are you runnning?

No, I don't have them. I was just curious. So I would need 2 maxxlinks to link 4 together? Can it be 1 master and 3 slaves or is it 2 masters and 2 slaves?

not too sure about all that. something new? four amps as one? sounds like it would be a alpine deal. not a general question about strapping an amp.

All that max link is going to do is give you one volume to control multiple. read this.... MAXXSONICS

Well how would you get 4 amps to push 4 subs exactly the same without strapping or a Slave/master feature? I'm talking about amps that cannot be strapped.

maxxlink and a dmm
I thought with the Maxxlink the Master's gain would control the gain for all slaves, and you wouldn't have to mess with the gain on the slaves? It says in the manual that it can make multiple amps into one big amp. One big amp should only have one gain?

bortado... yes. you use it to control all them BUTZZZ you have to have each amp gains set to match each other amp in order to get the same wattage across all subs. Even then,!, you still have to match impedances. All max link appears to be good for is one controls vs 4 gain controls...

Maybe I'm starting to sound stupid, but I still don't understand the point of the Slave/Master feature?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif When I strapped 2 amps in the past, it seemed like the slave's gain didn't work. I could be recalling it wrong because that was some years ago. The Maxxlink should kill the need for the dmm, right? Well let me ask you this, is it easier to use a dmm on all four amps without the Maxxlink to get the same exact power to all 4 subs?

In the case of amps that are already setup with a master/slave switch you set the gain on both amps to the same level, and the master amp feeds the slave amp with a preamp signal that is 180 degrees out of phase...

If you are powering seperate subs with seperate amps there is no need for a max link.. simply hook everything up and match the gains so the amps are all putting out the same amount of power...
