MAXI vs ANL Fuses

definitely it seems like ANL fuses are a lot more expensive than MAXI fuses and is designed to handle more current.. are there any other benefits/pros-cons to ANL fuses vs MAXI fuses? The fuse amp range that I need/am looking for come in both ANL and MAXI styles..

should i just save money and go with the MAXI fuses? or should i be looking for a specific benefit from ANL?

depends on the application, what r u using them for? an inline fuse, or an "on amp" fuse?

i'm going to be running a fused distribution block to protect my amps.. so its gonna block from 1 4 ga input to a 4 ga output along with a 8 ga output..

i basically need a 100 amp and a 60 amp fuse for the respective amplifers

no one has yet to convince me of using ANL fuses over MAXI fuses...

I think it would be overkill to use ANL fuses in distro, since most amps don't need a 150A and higher rating fuse.

I always use the cheaper alternative, if there's minimal/no difference in using any two things.

ANL - AGU - MAXI

htey do the same work, just that each has its limits for amp handling, and the physical built of it. I bet there should be some technological diffrences, ie: AGU uses shorter wires, Maxi needs longer wires, n ANL longer than maxi (talkin bout hte internal conncetions of the fuse that carry the current)

but basically. They ALL the same, it just depends on ur needs

yes, some say that the speed in which the fuse blows is different, etc, etc. Personally, if it's to blow, then I probably think it will blow. Old maxi's were only availble till about 40A, I think, whilst AGU was up to 70~80A, and ANL took take over 200A beatings.

Now, it's different though. Maxi's can reach up to 70A (or was that 80A).

yeah..the ANL ones make a lotta mention about some sort of 5 second double load switch speed.. not sure what makes that significant..but just something they mention a lot..

i might end up going w/ the MAXI just cuz its a lil cheaper.. i did see some lightning audio MAXI fused distro blocks that handle up to 100 amps per channel.. and thats about all i need, so i think i might stick wtih that..

unless theres reason for me to do ANL instead?

i think it's geared more towards cosmetic and price difference. I'm sure mai fuses are cheaper than ANL fuses.

An ANL fuse does look a tad more intimidating to me, than a maxi fuse.
