Max power for DLS UR6S'

I know Focal's are always under-rated and are run at higher RMS ratings than what is specified on spec sheets so I was wondering if this was the same for these DLS'? These are rated for 100RMS on the DLS site (oddly enough 150RMS on the spec sheet provided on the exact page) and I am able to get an amp that will do 150RMS X 2 and was wondering if this would damage the speakers in anyway? I'm pretty new so I'm not sure if they add it up, 50RMS for the tweeter and 100RMS for the midspeaker = 150RMS?

Yes the UR6S's are rated at 150rms and 180 MAX..

150x2 is fine just watch your gains and set them with a DMM...

150rms for the Midbass

and

50rms for the tweeters - 80max

I would personally run someting at 100x2 or 125x2 @ 4ohm, to be safe.

How do I run different voltages to the two components? I was planning on sending my outputs from one channel of the amp to the inputs on the crossover and then wire accordingly. Is this not the way you do it?

Also, I have no idea what a DMM is..I'm new haha sorry

The issue here is clipping the signal which will shorten the life of your speakers. Read the gain setting tutorial sticky in the Amplifier section or use JL's tutorial www.jlaudio.com for setting the gain (ie imput sensitiviy) with a multimeter. BTW, you don't need a digital multimeter (DMM) but they are a little easier to use than the analog ones.

When you get better at it, you can just set the gain by ear - which is more accurate than using DMM anyway!!!

Oh, and you can put 1000 watts on your speakers if you want to. Remember rule numero uno in car audio: get as much clean power as you can afford.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
