someone help me learn how to do series in calculus. I have a take home test due monday and I have NO idea what im doing

yeah, i tried both of those (thanks for being a sarcastic *** sublime) but the methods that i find vary from what i was taught so it throw me off even more

Are you talking about simple series and sequences or more advanced stuff, such as McLauren and Taylor series expansions? What level of calculus?

If you try and learn the methods in any math/engineering/science courses, you'll fail miserably. Learn why a given series behaves the way it does and what the importance of that is. Knowing why, you can easily derive a method/solution.

im taking calculus 2, its simple series right now, not taylor series

Well what do you need to know? The key is to see which identity the series you're looking at most closely resembles and then use that to find if it converges or diverges based upon the you're comparitive series. Give me an example and I'll work you through it.

P.S. if you can't spell mathematical correctly, calculus probably isn't going to be your cup of tea.
