one of tha problems was this...

15 - 6 / 3 x 2 + 7 - 1 tha x is multiplication, LDO.

i told him tha answer was 12, but it is marked wrong.

multiplication and division have the same "hierarchy" so you work from the left to the right in that case. This is a college math class??? I thought differential equations was hard, i can't imagine having to follow order of operations!!!

there is no () or exponents. so then its multiplication OR division. whichever comes first in the linear equation.

lulz. as stated before multiplication and division are interchangeable, so is addition and subtraction.

but the correct answer is 17 and if you(re friend) follows the order of operations, im sure he will pass math and get his GED, er... i mean college diploma
