I don't care how much lower my gas mileage gets, this is something I have wanted to do for a LOOOONG time and am glad to pay for the tradeoff. I could switch to a little gay a$$ ricer civic if I were that concerned.

And what is going in this car...what kinda car is it?

Just to add....I think you should layer the trunk (or back cabin) with 3 sheets of MDF, Bondo and fiberglass all wood, put a layer of cement down on the whole floor...cement seal all holes including break pedal and acc. pedal hahah j/k... I actually saw a car like this once....!!! He needed solid rubber wheels to hold the weight, with pieces of steel pole on his suspension.

160 sq ft. Damplifier 65 lbs

100 sqft. Hazmat 40 lbs (unless you got the 100 mil stuff)

3 gallons Spectrum 24 lbs cured

2 gallons Sludge 18 lbs cured

40 sqft. 19lb. Carpet Pad 15 lbs

Turns out to be 162 lbs. which is like driving around with a passenger...

or a butt load of groceries...

or a college kids laundry

or 2 crack head hookers

or a couple of kegs on the way to a party

not really a ton of difference when it comes down to it.... not for an SUV

I just put in 80 sq. ft. of Damplifier and 80 sq. ft. of Damplifier Pro and I am very impressed with the results! Have fun! Make real sure you don't layer up too much where pins and such would go in, for example, the door skin pins or plastic panel pins. Also, make sure you don't cover up any pin holes. Make sure you have enough thread around your seat studs so your seat will be able to bolt down. Don't forget, that the carpet needs to go back on top, so keep that thickness in mind as well. Good luck!

ah..missed that part...yeah.. you will be fine...

I am pissed that I am doing this before the release of ThermoSkin... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I would go with a single layer on the roof unless you are blowing some serieous wind in that thing.. then follow up with a layer of the carpet padding between the mat and the ceiling upholstery (if the foam will fit) this way you take all of the air space out and the connection between the 2 is more solid.. This is what we use Rattle Pad for, but on a ceiling it takes a few layers considering the gap can be so big.

If you can fit the carpet padding in there go for it
