MASSIVE search going on in philly

Or not.
I don't have interactions with the police, but I have yet to hear a story from someone close to me where a policeman saved the day.
True story!

When I was a young kid like 9, we had a cat (I hate cats!) his name was............I forget, anyway I opened a window in the attic which is next to a huge tree. Guess what Mr I can't remember his name jumped through the dam window to the tree and the chicken shit wouldn't jump back in. So I go downs stairs and start yelling at it to jump down. I imagine the cat is thinking, I didn't jump back through the window so what in the world makes you think I am jumping down a two story tree? So I am still yelling and pumping fists in the air looking like a rapid punk kid in Teenage mutant ninja boxers and a GI Joe shit. So comes along a police crusier and sees me yelling at the tree. He gets out and says hey little one, what seems to be the problem. I am like Mr noname won't jump down from the stupid tree. He goes, would you jump down from a two story tree? I said, hecks no, I wouldn't land on all fours! Plus I wouldn't want to ruin my Teenage mutant ninja turtle boxers and GI joe shirt. So no shit, guy pulls a ladder from his ***. (I got my it out the garage) and he goes up after the little booger. He just about gets there and guess what! The stoopid cat jumped back through the open window, lol! I hated that cat!

Anyway, my point being the cop tried to save the day! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Your right, you are so important that the police should never ever talk to you or question you. They should just know you aren't doing anything illegal. Get over yourself.
So, you think it is just that police have the authority to invade my privacy based on suspicion?

So, if the feds kicked in your door, took your computer, rummaged through your doors, because of a suspicion, that would be okay as well?

I never said they deserve to be shot...but I hardly call them a hero...or put their life on the line...to "help me"....

and your right and you probably will never never to be rescued by one, im sure only a very small majority of people do, but how can you not question people when your job entails that one day you walk into a dunkin donuts and you get shot in the face because your wearing a uniform. If i was a cop in Philly id be harassing every hoody wearing person in the ****ing city.

plus think about the generalizations about police your making, because there are a few who apparently wont leave you alone, your saying the rest are just as bad.

I'm sorry its all about you and you haven't been singled out for help by the police.

By the virtue of paying taxes, I should expect something....

Someone will probably break in my car one day...you know what the police will do?

Ask me how I bought the system

Ask for my reciepts to ensure I didn't steal it to begin with

tell me tough luck and I should not have a system to begin with

not to me but, um, yeah....because im sure we are all ILLEGALLY downloading things...making it against the law, therefore its ALLOWED

get an alarm take care of it before it becomes a problem so you dont have to rely on the sick and twisted cops in your town that are only out to get you.

Way to take it to the extreme to make an example. Any argument has a non-related dooms day scenario.

We all lose personal freedoms for safety, to what degree we all disagree. But I've been "harassed" by the police before and its because I was breaking the law, being suspicious, or just the wrong place wrong time. I admit that, I accept it, I don't cry unfair treatment //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I work for the DoD...people will kill me because of a badge. I hardly expect anyone to call me a hero.

I don't have a problem with the police, I understand they are supposed to do some kind of job. My father used to be a police officer...he says, "Yes, at night it gets boring and we would follow cars around just because we had nothing else to do".

What I have a problem with is people putting them on a pedestal.

oh, my grandpa was chief of police in the town i used to live in, in case anyone wants to say "how would you feel..."
you sir are a confused individual...

i would say that he should be shot in the head but that would be fcked up and I wouldn't wish that on him. maybe it is b/c i have family who are officers in philly...

By virtue of paying SS tax I should expect some when I retire...doubt I get it though.

maybe there are more important things than your stolen stereo, maybe cop shops are understaffed, maybe you just happened to deal with the 1 out of 10 cops that just happens to be an *******. No matter what its prejudice to judge all by one or two.

i dont think anyone here has put a cop on a pedestal yet...so far we've got people that dont like them and people who say they are just trying to make a living like everyone else...ive yet to see a post of people idolizing them like they are some sort of grace from god.

I do not, nor have not illegally downloaded any music. I think it is wrong from an economic perspective. The act of purchase is a signal to the artist to make more songs. By circumventing that process, they do not recieve that signal.

I never said the police where out to get me. I said they do not offer me any value. I don't break the law (I do speed and if I got a ticket for it, it would be just). As for an alarm, a good friend's father discovered that responding to alarm may result in a baseball bat to the head. I'd rather them steal it and I not know.

And this is the crux of the issue, I do not find any value in the police force and feel the do an inadequate job....and more or less, I would rather police myself and that should be sufficient.

If cops harass you you're probably a scumbag, shady POS who's up to no good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
