I use an Infinity 12.1 in my truck for daily driving around and it does not really lack anywhere in the spectrum. Works well for both that punchy rock bass as well as the low rap bass. Can't say i've heard a massive audio cw12 but I do know that you really can't go wrong with Infinity subs for a nice SQ sub.

The 12.1 and the 12VQ are actually quite different. They look nearly the same from the front, but the 12.1 has a 2" VC with no variable Q inserts, while the VQ has a 3" voice coil and variable Q inserts. I have owned both, and can say that i like both. I felt that the 12.1 really was a beautiful sounding woofer, but did lack a little in the output department. The VQ deystroyed the lows, and was pretty loud(it took 657watts with no problem), but i felt it lacked a little in the higher frequency bass. I just bought an RL-P, and it it has the best of both subs and a little more. I would say the VQ is great, and if you can find a used RL-P(classified section here has one) then even better.

i have 2 CW12's an if you want low an loud, that is for you, sq is pretty good, but the infinity will have better sq just bc that is there main focus. but i am very pleased with my cw's an i know you can ask PESteele about them, an he likes his. i paid 360BNIB for mine an for what i paid new, i dont think you can get much louder....

i think it depends on the box you build i will be useing a sealed enclouser works better for the music i listen to. so did either of you try th 12 vq in a sealed or ported and im thinking also about a group known *** elemental design there 13 inch sub i heard on sq is way better than both of these subs but not spl its always give and take thanks again for the feedback guys

Elemental designs subs are good also, however, i don't think it will blow away the Infinity. I have owned the 13kv.2 (12 in sub by the way), and it was nice, but not as nice as the infinity. I only tried mine in ported. In sealed, with the VQ you have many options ranging from .6cu ft to 1.25 depending on which insert. I vote two VQ's.
