massive amp and jl audio 13w7 D1.5

hello everyone ,great site.thats why i joined.lol.. ok i know im old.ok but im a rocker from way back when amps were called power boosters..lmao we had 8 tracks.!..well im upgrading my car system im running a massive p1500.1 on two 15w4dvc jl-audio subs which i will continue to use [sealed box] well now im adding a jl-audio 13w7 d1.5 jl audio sub.ported.. big box !! i am also going to run the jl with a massive p1500.1 amp. the jl specs have me confused.1.5 ohms? ill be bridging the sub.the amp is stable at 1 ohm. 1500 watts rms 3000pk .i need to know the best and safest way to hook this up. same specs as the sub almost.should i run all positives to positives and same with negetive.i read a jl site they said to do it this way.but they were confusing in there tutorials..im hitting pretty good now.cant wait for the 13.5..lol..yeah any suggestens would be greatly appreciated. the younger guys just look when im coming..lol then see an old dude..but hey never let life keep you from what you love...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif thanks and thanks for letting me join..steve:veryhapp: PS i do want it to pound as it should?

If you wire that sub to a mono amp in parallel like you said above, you will drop it to a 0.75 ohm load. Since your amp is only rated to 1 ohm, chances are that it will not work for long that way. The only "safe" way to wire that sub to that amp is in series. You will then have a 3 ohm load.

I would recommend choosing a different setup. Those two just don't match very well. That amp would only make sense if you had two of those d1.5 subs. You could run them at 1.5 ohm. Even then, you would only be pushing about 600W each. Those subs can take much more power.

 
what would be the best way to wire the amp to sub..to get full potential..without blowing things up..im planning on doing it today thanks steve

That is going to give you a 3 ohm load. That is the best you can do with this sub and amp.

 
thanks thats how i hooked it up..it pounds good but need some adjustments thatll be tomorrow..lol do you have any recomendations to as what amp would power this sub.at 1.5 ohms..i cant seem to find the rite amp..thanks for your time and help steve
