I did it heavy where I knew there would not be a conflict...it's pretty thin around the clip sections, but heavy whereIt can be. I was worrying about the same thing...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

I had this issue with my old Civic. I took moderate precautionary measures but they weren't enough. Although the panels fit back on, it wasn't easy, nor did they fit back on as well as original.

When you think about it, you're raising every surface in the vehicle a substantial amount. I did 3-4 layers of 45mil thick deadening on every surface. Effectually, you're making the inside of your cabin smaller while the panels outer size stays the same.

So far so good, you should be satisfied with the results. Resonations and road noise will be cut considerably. You may find you have contact rattles where the panels meet, though. Hopefully not.
